A creamy, fruity layered dessert made with vanilla pudding, fresh strawberries, bananas, and buttery vanilla cookies. It's easy to assemble and perfect for family gatherings, potlucks, or a sweet weekend treat.
Ingredients
For the pudding:
1 package (5.1 oz) instant vanilla pudding mix
3 cups cold milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
1 container (8 oz) whipped topping, thawed
For the layers:
4β5 ripe bananas, sliced
2 cups fresh strawberries, sliced
1 package (11 oz) vanilla wafer cookies or shortbread cookies
Β½ cup crushed cookies, for topping
Optional: 2 tablespoons strawberry jam for extra strawberry flavor
Instructions
Make the pudding:
In a large bowl, whisk the instant vanilla pudding mix with the cold milk for about 2 minutes, until thickened.Add the creamy ingredients:
Stir in the sweetened condensed milk and vanilla extract until smooth. Gently fold in the whipped topping.Prepare the fruit:
Slice the bananas and strawberries just before assembling the dessert.Start layering:
In a large trifle dish or deep glass baking dish, add a layer of vanilla wafers.Add the pudding:
Spread a layer of the creamy vanilla pudding over the cookies.Add the fruit:
Arrange a layer of sliced bananas and strawberries over the pudding.Repeat:
Continue layering cookies, pudding, bananas, and strawberries until the dish is filled. Finish with a layer of pudding.Garnish:
Top with additional strawberries, banana slices, and crushed vanilla wafers.Chill:
Cover and refrigerate for at least 2β4 hours before serving. For the best flavor and texture, chill overnight.

Add the bananas shortly before serving if you want to minimize browning.
For an extra strawberry flavor, lightly warm 2 tablespoons of strawberry jam and drizzle it between the layers.
